The struggle against pollution in aquifers by nitrates and marine invasion is the main aim of the Diputación de Valencia. EGEVASA has designed a plan for works and improvements to supply all the municipalities in the Province through quality water sourcing. This plan eradicates the problem of nitrate pollution associated with intensive citrus fruit cultivation so traditional in our region.
EGEVASA designs and sets up projects for Drinking Water Treatment Plants (DWTPs) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). Correct treatment of wastewater ensures protection for the environment. Existing treatment facilities are reused as far as possible in order to optimise the investment already made in them.
EGEVASA has carried out, on order by the Diputación de Valencia, a complete inventory and diagnosis of the water infrastructures available to the municipalities in our Province. This study has promoted more than a hundred signed Agreements between the Diputación and the Town Councils to revise, map, and both improve leak detection and the state of the water distribution networks.
From the information obtained, EGEVASA has developed a Supply and Sewage Plan to cover the whole Province. This allows the Diputación de Valencia and the other Administrations to plan actions to definitively resolve any deficiencies within the systems.
